November is almost here! Time to get typing and produce a 50,000 word novel in a month.

If you’re at all like me, sometimes you just need a deadline. I have a folder of story ideas on my computer but life has a habit of getting in the way of transforming those ideas into compelling works of fiction.

The idea of NaNoWriMo is you sign up and commit to writing 50,000 rough draft of a novel by 30 November. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with other writers around the world as they do the same.

Closer to home you may also like to meet other like-minded people through NaNoWriMo events, such as ‘write ins’, that are hosted in local libraries and bookstores.
